Tony Canci

Managing Director

With formal qualifications in building, construction, demolition, business growth and strategic management, plus 35 years experience in the industry, Tony has used his extensive knowledge to develop MACS Australia (formerly Freo Construction) into a major services supplier to Blue Chip Resource and utility and infrastructure maintenance companies and developers.

Tony has extensive experience in large scale logistics for resource construction projects, industrial maintenance, design and construct, crane rental, mine and refinery shutdown, and lifting services. He has a track record of managing industrial and commercial developments from feasibility, design and construction to tenant hand over and lease.

Rosa Cummins

Finance Director

Rosa is an accomplished Executive and Non-Executive Director with over 15 years experience. Having lived in the UK for 15 years, her work history includes roles at UK and US listed companies At7T, 3i’s (Investors in Industry) and Development Securities Plc.

She has significant experience as an Executive Director in family business, in addition to serving as a Non-Executive Director in the resource and banking industries. Her other experience includes working as a Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary, a highlight having been involved in the sale of a family business to a Berkshire Hathaway Inc. company.

Rosa’s recent directorships have included the involvement with Indigenous Supply companies.

Dean Short

Chief Executive Officer

Dean Short joined MACS Australia Group Pty Ltd in April 2017 as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining MACS, Dean previously held senior management positions in the crane industry with 25 years site experience in structural, mechanical and piping disciplines.

Dean holds a Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons) degree and combines strong technical background in project planning, execution and methodology in the resources, infrastructure and utilities sectors.

Steven Meyer

Executive General Manager

Steve has over 25 years of experience in a wide range of civil and building projects. His international exposure to a multitude of clients, delivery models and working environments has aided Steve’s ability to offer wide-ranging and tailored solutions to our clients.

Steve has been responsible for delivering projects ranging from dams, power schemes, highway and urban road upgrades, airports, industrial and commercial building works. He also has significant exposure to mining and rail environment jobs. Steve has experience working in challenging roles on complex projects, always focusing on the best interests of the relevant project.

Nick Boccardo

Chief Financial Officer

Nick is responsible for MACS’ financial and information technology portfolios including investor relations, purchasing, facilities, supply chain management and order management. Nick is an analytical and imaginative thinker and problem solver with over 18 years of expertise in operational and strategic corporation management, fund raising, pre- and post-merger management, as well as management consultancy.

Nick held a number of CFO and Senior Management positions in a variety of engineering and civil construction businesses delivering multi-million dollar projects and was owner operator of a private Public Accounting Practice where he consulted to small and medium size businesses and high wealth individuals.

Leo Grida

General Manager – Industrial Services & Civil Contracting

With 25 years of construction experience, Leo has overseen all phases of multimillion-dollar construction and infrastructure projects for government and private clients. Leo has a proven history of safe work practices allowing on-time, on-budget, high-quality deliveries.

Over the past 18 years with MACS Australia, Leo held positions in Supervision, Construction Management and Project Management roles. For the past 5 years he has been the General Manager of Industrial Services which combines civil construction and facility maintenance across the WA industrial and resource sectors.

Micheal DiPardo

Manager – Concrete Sawing & Drilling

Micheal has over 20 years of experience and is a second-generation concrete cutter. Micheal has emerged through the Concrete Sawing & Drilling sector from being hands-on through to divisional management. Micheal’s on-the-ground experience aids his solutions-driven approach to his client’s needs.

Matthew DiPardo

Manager – Modular Construction

Matthew DiPardo has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry fulfilling his role for MACS. He not only has a vast understanding of the company as a whole but has a proven record of successfully delivering projects to client requirements.

Frank Paratore

Manager – Design & Construct

Frank is a Registered Building Practitioner with over 25 years of design and project/construction experience in commercial construction ranging from large industrial developments, office/warehouse developments, multi-level apartments/mixed use, high end custom homes, education/school construction, shopping centres, nursing homes and retirement villages.  This experience covers hands-on construction experience through to design and project management – having managed project teams up to 250 people.

Frank’s experience provides clients with cost-effective, value engineering and time-saving solutions from initial concept through to completion. It is Frank’s firm belief that Design & Construct offers the unique ability to partner with clients to successfully deliver projects.

Richard Nevin

Operations Manager – Transportable Buildings

Richard is Operations Manager of MACS’ Transportable Buildings division. He is responsible for coordinating the hire, delivery and installation of transportable buildings as well as associated refurbishment and relocation projects.

On joining the team at MACS Australia, Richard brings 17 years of small business experience covering end-to-end roles from sales, tendering and estimating through to project planning and customer delivery. He has worked in civil engineering procurement as well as in the design, manufacture and installation of steel sheds and patios.

Richard has earned an MBA from Murdoch University and a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design from Curtin University.
